The Salvation Army’s 2026 Angel Tree Christmas Assistance Program opens in October, and the organization is inviting those who are struggling financially to register.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program aims to give children between the ages of 0-12 years who are in need a Christmas they may not have otherwise.

Registration for the 2026 Salvation Army Angel Tree Christmas Assistance Ministry Program will take place on September 29th, October 1st, and October 14th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We also have times available for September 30th, October 13th, and October 15th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Additional times include October 7th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. All registrations will be held at Hancock Resource Center, located at 887 Washington St., Bay St. Louis, MS, 39520.

Families with children from live birth to 12 years of age (at the time of registration) are eligible for the Christmas gift program.  A parent or legal guardian must apply for their own children, and the person applying must bring a valid photo identification card and proof of Hancock County residency.  State-issued, certified birth certificates for all children are required at time of registration. Copies will not be accepted. Applicant must bring documented proof of income and expenses to complete the application.  For families of children who are 13 and older, see below for more details.

Proof means you must bring all needed items at the time of application.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program in Hancock County is made possible through the coordination provided by Hancock Resource Center and Hope Haven Children’s Services and by the generous donations of time and treasure by the many volunteers who work tirelessly to bring a bright holiday season to our county’s children. If you are interested in volunteering for registration of families, distribution of gifts, or adopting an angel, please contact Linda Davis at
