The Hancock Resource Center is hosting a babysitting class taught by The American Red Cross on Monday, July 22., from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Designed for students ages 11 to15, the training provides the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for infants and children up to the age of 10. Participants will benefit from hands-on skills practice and basic training in first aid. The training teaches babysitters how to help children have fun while keeping them safe. Topics covered include how to calm a crying baby, handle conflict between children, respond to emergencies with first aid, make decisions under pressure, communicate effectively with parents and feed, diaper and care for infants. The course develops leadership in participants by teaching strategies to encourage good behavior in children and best practices for developing a babysitting business. Read more . . . |
